Victoria Park Grey Primary School, located in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, was established in 1875 with a rich history spanning over 150 years, evolving from South End Grey to its current name and location.

  • Early Years:

The school's origins trace back to South End Grey, with a name change to South End Grey and the adoption of the motto "Honour and Service".

  • Relocation and Renaming:

In the late 1940s, a new school building was constructed next to the newly built high school in Victoria Park. The school was then renamed Victoria Park Grey Primary and occupied the new building in 1950.

  • Growth and Development:

The school has seen significant development, including the addition of facilities like a netball court, tennis courts, cricket nets, a hall, an administration block, classrooms, a science laboratory, and a media center.

  • Centenary Celebrations:

In 1975, the school celebrated its centenary with the opening of a swimming pool and the return of former teacher and pupil, Ms. Whitehead.

  • Continued Excellence:

Victoria Park Grey Primary continues to be a strong performer in academics, particularly in mathematics and literacy, as demonstrated by NAPLAN results. The school emphasizes six core values: Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, Self Esteem, Self Motivation, and Teamwork.

  • Recent Milestones:

In 2025, the school celebrated its 150th anniversary with a special event.
